This treatment is ideal for areas such as legs, arms, underarms and bikini line.

This is an excellent means of removing hair on a temporary basis and as an alternative to shaving or using hair removing cream, with the added advantage of  lasting longer and reducing, rather than exacerbating hair growth.

The hairs need to be long enough to be removed, ideally ¼ inch or longer.
Warm wax is applied to the area and removed by pressing a strip of cloth onto the wax embedding the hairs into the wax, then it is ripped of taking both the wax and the hair with it. It may sound quite barbaric and the first time of waxing is always a little sharp, however as the hairs will be growing back directly from the root, they will return much softer and finer, so the next waxing session will be far less painful.

If a client has been regularly shaving prior to the first waxing, then some stubble will likely still be felt, and these hairs will be removed during the next treatment. It is advisable to have 3 waxings 3-4 weeks apart to ensure all previously shaved hairs are removed at least once, then the regrowth can be timed and waxing take place between 4-6 weeks. No stubble will be felt and instead by the time their hairs are long enough to wax, they will still be finer and softer than previously.

Other advantages are when underarms are waxed, perspiration        tends to be reduced, which is simply a convenient common side   effect.

I do not recommend waxing for any facial areas, as the removing of  the hair tends to rupture the follicle slightly so that when the hair  grows back, it does not lie as flat against the skin as untreated hair. This also tends to happen with shaving, so is not a problem for body hair.

The after care procedure, is minimal. The client is advised not to expose the area to the extreme heat, ie sunbathing, sunbeds or saunas, for 24 hours. This is simply because the warm wax on the area heats up the skin, and further heat applied shortly after will have a cumulative effect if the skin has not completely cooled down.
