This is a permanent method of hair removal and generally comes in two forms. Diathermy, and the more recent and effective, Blend. For each method of treatment, a very fine probe is inserted into each follicle in turn, the probe must be inserted very carefully, and is an extremely skilled process. Once the probe has been placed in the follicle so that the tip is reaching the papillae, (the source of blood supply to the root) a small current is released for a matter of seconds. 
Diathermy relies purely on the heat of the current, damaging the blood supply, where as Blend incorporates a small amount of diathermy and also uses galvanic, which causes the reconstruction of the follicle. The hair, complete with its root and shaft is then gently lifted out of the follicle.
Each hair that has been initially treated will inevitably return, though it will be considerably finer. Ideally this treatment could be carried out weekly or fortnightly, thereby ensuring that all hairs are treated as soon as they reappear, thus reducing the bodies healing and repairing period.
This treatment is ideally suitable for smaller areas of troublesome hair growth, such as top lip or chin, however it is also extremely successful on areas such as eyebrows, underarms, bikinis and even large areas such as legs.
The client is advised to bathe the treated area twice daily and apply a soothing lotion, for 2 days.
